TiVo in your Dive Bag?

Why include TiVo in your divegear?  It's no longer just about setting up a scuba wishlist.  TiVo has teamed up with Yahoo, Fandango, and Live365 to provide new functionality to your favorite box.  Click here if you'd like to learn more about the new apps.  If you haven't received the update, you can signup here.

Here's where it gets exciting.  One of the new apps is called podcaster.  What if you could listen to your favorite radio program right on your TiVo?  Here's how to set it up:

  1. What you'll need:
    1. A TiVo Series II
    2. A Broadband (cable internet or DSL) connection.

  2. Make sure you have the latest update on your TiVo.  You can check that you have received the update by checking the Music, Photos, & More menu from TiVo Central. When you receive the update, the new services will appear in this list.  Also, make sure you have Home Network Applications enabled.
  3. Scroll down to Podcaster and press select.
  4. go to "Enter a Url" and enter http://www.scubaradio.com/srpodcast.xml
  5. Sit back and listen to Scuba Steve and Greg the Divemaster.

After following these steps, the ScubaRadio archive will appear under favorites in the Podcaster app.

What you don't have a TiVo?  No problem, now is the perfect time to add one to your divegear. Now with rebates you can set a TiVo for $49.   Just be sure when you register your new TiVo online, enter jfarag@sbcglobal.net as the person who recommended you get a TiVo.
